| Curious Labs Poser 6 Special Edition | Winter Queen (wings only) | - | KimSchneider:I just recently discovered how good these wings really are. They are part of the Winter Queen set included in the P6 special edition and fully articulated. Foldable as well and they look nice in every position. The only drawback is, that when rendered from behind in the folded position you get a few black dots due to polygon collision. They come with a set of very nice plain white textures. For those who wish to texture them by themselves, be warned: it is a lot of work to follow the template, as the shape of the wings dictate the positioning of the feathers through their surface relief. But nonetheless, the efforts are well worth the time. |
| DAZ | Eagle (wings only) | 19.95/ PC 1.99 |
The Eagle looks good, but compared to his younger and fresher brother, Eagle 2, I would turn to the new version |
| DAZ | Eagle 2 (wings only) | 29.95 | KimSchneider:I've only experimented a little with them but they look really promising. Very detailed wing build, and the morphing into folded position. Sadly with this odd joint notch, but that can be corrected with a bit of post pro. And, the Eagle 2, as his predecessor, was optimized for Poser ProPack so you'll have to live with shadow dots as Poser 5 user. |
| DAZ | Upgrade to Eagle 2 from Eagle | 22.95 | Upgrade from this model to Eagle 2. |
| DAZ | Eagle 2 Expansion | 29.95 | KimSchneider:This upgrade contains a collection of new texture maps plus morphs to change the Eagle 2 into several different species of bird of prey. From gyrfalcon to Steller's Eagle you get a wide variety of new birdies here... One major development is the slight remodelling and remapping of the bird figure. The feathers of the wing insides are now seperately mapped and they now render beautifully in Poser 5 and Poser 6! Highly recommended! |
| DAZ | Guardian Angels by Darkworld Designs | 29.95 |
Nice looking wings for standing Engel, and nearly big enough. Textures look fitting, too. But I don't know how they render for flight scenes. The banners could be used as well, but I don't think the clothes would fit |
| DAZ | Dreamer Wings by Darkworld Designs | 16.95/ PC 1.99 | A stylized set of wings, looking good from a distance. But I don't think they'ld be good for closeups for they look like made of paper. |
| DAZ | The Legendary Griffin by etujedi | 29.95 | KimSchneider:The best wings I have seen - ever! Since the Griffin is a neat model by itself, I (naturally) will focus on the wings. They fold flawlessly, are modelled with great care and love to detail and are my favored wings for Engel ever. The only drawback might be the artificial looking textures, but that's nothing a little postwork won't be able to fix! |
| RR | Angelyna Wings by robert.sharkey | 6.00 |
MalindaBrown:Beautiful wings, though a little narrow. They can be made larger, but you have to scale each section of wing to make it look right. They can sometimes be a challenge to pose, but well worth the effort. All in all a very nice product especially in conjunction with textures by TiffT785. These can be found at RR. KimSchneider:They look too schematic for my tastes. Other than that they are nice and seem to come with lots of possibilities for texturing with their material groups. |
| RR | Ultimate Wings by robert.sharkey | 8.00 | KimSchneider:They are nice, though very schematic. And they put a great strain on the system when added to a scene. Even for stronger systems it takes the best part of forever to load them, not to talk of applying textures to them. Posing them in more extreme poses does not work well, either. It tends to leave very odd distortions in the mesh which result in sort of a zigzag wing in the render. In Poser 5 you'll have to do some awkward post processing to get the shadows out of the wings. The model was optimized for Poser 4 and/ or ProPack and it dearly tells... |
| RR | Wing Brush Kit by Ravnheart | 9.95 |
For post production in graphic application only! A set of Photoshop brushes with a variety of wings, both right side and left side. I think the drawback is that Ravnheart only included the upper sides of the wings as brushes, not the insides. Sure, no one needs wing insides, but when you render an Engel as portrait, you'll wish to have them nevertheless. The resolution and size of the brushes seems reasonable though. Might be a good set for portrait pictures when you want to quickly add some ready set wings. |
| RDNA | Angel of Avalon - Vol.1 The Wings | 7.95 | KimSchneider:Equipped with multiple layers of feather (5 on each poseable wing segment) and well articulated for posing. However, they show the usual problem with the bending wing arms and the typical inside dent. On the other side, they are easy to texture for quick and selfmade styles of your own and look quite naturalistic for closeup. Big plus für P5/ P6 users is that all feathergroups are rendering nicely without the dreaded black primaries I am accustomed from other wing sets. |
| RDNA | Goth Cherub Wings | 5.00 | KimSchneider:More of a stylized set of wings, yet surprisingly real-looking with their feather texture. The only drawback ist that the feathers are a grayish black, but you can allways touch up the tex before working with them. They pose nicely but don't go too well in extreme positions. |
